Product Description

Description

Kanalog is an expansion board for KFLOP that adds six types of powerful I/O - enough to control a complete system such as a mill or router, in many cases. It's these capabilities that make Kanalog our most popular expansion board for KFLOP.

After examining a number of typical CNC control applications, Kanalog was designed to meet the requirements that we encountered the most. Many systems with obsolete controls can be retrofitted with the state-of-the-art trajectory control and user interface provided by the KFLOP+Kanalog combo with minimal cost while taking advantage of existing amplifiers and motors.

In addition, Kanalog was designed specifically to interface to analog servo drives with +/-10V analog input commands for either torque or velocity. It provides an interface for differential encoder inputs, optical inputs (typically home/limits), optical outputs (typically amplifier enablers, spindle control, coolant, etc...). Relay Outputs, and Digital IO.

Kanalog easily connects to the KFLOP (see pictures) and comes connected when purchased together. Only two simple connectors and four screws are required to mount the KFLOP onto the Kanalog expansion board.

Once connected, Kanalog uses the +5V it receives from KFLOP to generate +/- 15V on-board so that no other power supply is required. Kanalog's footprint with 112 screw terminals, which are pluggable, make wiring easy.

This KFLOP+Kanalog combo provides the most compact, low-cost, high-performance control package available. Unlike other systems with PWM or Step/Dir to Analog circuits, Kanalog includes true digital to analog converters with low ripple and fast response.

Kanalog is the most popular of the KFLOP expansion boards for its capability in incorporating the needs of a complete system. Those who are retrofitting mills and routers with existing analog servo drive find the Kanalog expansion board especially useful.

For CNC applications use our KmotionCNC software with your KFLOP+Kanalog and get highly advanced data capture capabilities to fully understand how the system is performing in terms of following error, speed, output, response, bandwidth, etc.

Kanalog is fully compatible with Kogna for expansion of additional I/Os.

Fagor 8050 Retrofit

The machine is a Kondia Mill, 1994, with 1600 x 510 x 510 mm each axis. Originally was fitted with Fagor 8050 CNC, but died. Was replaced in almost 1 week, the inputs and outputs were respected even the connectors. If the owner wants to get a used Fagor CNC, it's just install it again. I've made a plug and play cabinet with the original connectors. Obviously the easy part was to get everything working with Kflop, Kanalog and a Kconnect. In the future, the tool changer will be installed too.

I have a KFlop since a couple of years and used it to build a milling machine. I'm really happy with the KFlop, it's programmable and has all the features I need. I plan to expand the sistem with a KAnalog later on.
The support is fantastic! Definitly the best support ever.
Tom never lets you alone. He not only answers patiently all questions that are asked again and again, but even updates the code every time a user makes a reasonable comment. In no time, a new version that corrects the bug or implements the missing feature, is out there!
Buy KFlop with confidence, it's a professional product with advanced features but thanks to the fantastic support, even a beginner is granted to be successful with it.

Nothing but praise..(user for 3 years)
I was looking to build a cnc machine for a while, but couldn't decide which direction to go, so started buying components on ebay like servo drives and controler even bought the software (Mach III). Lucky enough I found a second hand EDM machine from 1995 (good for cnc milling rebuild), the control panel has gone up in smoke (so the price was very cheap), it has 3 Heinenhain glass scales and C3 ball screws. So I started to get very excited about the accuracy that this machine could deliver. After some research I realised that we needed a different controler, one that could create the second closed loop (feedback from the glass scales on the axis) as well as the analogue output needed for the servo drives, so the Kflop extended with the Kanalog was the solution for me. First I started using Mach III as the interface, but after a while I realised that using the KmotionCNC was very easy, no more pluggin for Mach III, it was all we needed and more, fast accurate and stable.
The quality of products, and the outstanding service, just incredible, would recommend Dynomotion to anyone.
Keep up the good work
Henk

Kflop - Konnect - Kanalog - Kmotion
My project was a retrofit to a Aciera F5CNC. I removed all electrical and control items and replace the controller with Dynomotion products and couldn't be happier with the results. Look for it on youtube.
Great products, Excellent Support!
Lot's of information and support thru Dynomotion User Groups. Tom is the best!
Looking forward to my next project, Would and have recommend to others.
Thank You for making my project successful!

I replaced a Dynapath 10 on my Bridgeport mill with kflop+kanalog. The process went without a hitch over a month or so of weekends and the system is a joy to use. The machine is smoother, easier to program and much more accurate.
I can't comment on the support because I HAVEN'T HAD TO USE IT YET!!!!
This is the best product on the market today to use when replacing old CNC controllers!.
